Amber & Jeannell - The Divine Conjurers

Amber and Jeannell, the dynamic duo behind the podcast brown girl alchemy, are here for our freedom and intergenerational healing. through her crystal shop and spiritual services. Additionally, Amber is a spiritual practitioner, creative, conjurer, healer, lover, alchemist. Her light is illuminated through energetic healing, conjure work, creating + all things magickal. Her spiritual work aligns with African traditional religion, particularly Ifa + Hoodoo. It’s priority for her to reconnect to self by connecting with her ancestry + their native spiritual practices. The root of her work is connectedness to self, Spirit + honoring her ancestors.

What is your definition of freedom? What does it look and feel like to you? And how do you cultivate it daily?

Remind yourself that freedom is your birthright.

Our ancestors have laid the groundwork to ensure that we can + should fluently walk in our light without shame, guilt or be hindered by projected restrictions.

Share an anecdote, memory, or practice in your life that embodies freedom in every way.

Freedom to us is our ability to follow our spiritual convictions without confinement. This looks like ancestral veneration, hoodoo, IFA and all things that resonate with our spirit and connect us with the divine. Our freedom allows us to reject any judgement that is projected towards our spiritual practices.

How did your experiences influence the creation of Brown Girl Alchemy? For those of us struggling to begin the healing process, what are the first steps you would recommend on this journey?

The creation of Brown Girl Alchemy was led by spirit from conception to inception. In retrospect, we both realize that intergenerational healing, specifically mother/daughter healing is our divine purpose; hence the preparation for this journey began with my (Jeannell) childhood trauma and continued with my healing journey As I embraced motherhood. As a mother/daughter unit and soulmates our unique journey as healers that are simultaneously healing is Brown Girl Alchemy. We believe that the healing journey is a process begins with acknowledging and accepting the broken parts and trauma that exists inside of most of us. Sit with yourself and identify cycles and patterns of dysfunction. Then identify the source of the trauma. These initial steps will lead you on a beautiful path to healing and peace.
